Job Purpose:
Design safe and efficient processes for Main Assembly and Sub-Assemblies for the AF Department. Use analytic tools and traditional industrial engineering methods to optimize production functions.
Key Accountabilities:
- Use M.O.S.T. to develop balanced processes across AF manufacturing areas. Work to achieve Maximum Process Efficiency. Apply Lean Manufacturing techniques. Design processes that are simple and achieve SQCDM targets.
- Audit big data to ensure accurate information across all Operations Standards. Mobilize Excel formulas and VBA coding to optimize tasks.
- Regularly lead meetings with other Honda functional groups to develop and launch improvement themes (Quality, Safety, Delivery, Production, Purchasing, Packaging, or Logistics).
- Perform time estimates for process/line work, equipment loads, and develop operation standards for the AF Department during development.
- Identify opportunities to reduce waste within the process and improve efficiency. Apply 5S work methods, workstation design, and set best practices for production.
- Evaluate and implement ergonomic countermeasures to prevent associate injury.
- Maintain accurate AutoCAD department layout.
- Collect feedback from the production floor in AF and address their concerns.
- Read Parts drawings, Spec Notices, 3D CATIA data.
- Create charts and presentations to report status and plans for key department metrics.
Minimum Educational Qualifications:
- B.A or B.S Degree or equivalent related experience.
Minimum Experience Required:
Other Job Specific Skills:
- Excel VBA, Standard Time Evaluation, Workstation Design, 5S, Lean Manufacturing, Customer Service, PDDA.
Decisions Expected:
- Manpower requirement for responsible area.
- Complex process design direction.
- Tool/workstation requirements.
- Ergonomic requirements with process rotation.
Working Conditions:
- 10% Travel, 5 to 10 hours of OT per week - Occasional split shift if support needed.
- Office / Manufacturing Floor.
- Flexible working hours / OT on demand.
