Job Summary

Establishes the digital strategy for the athletic department and directs social media content, organizing and planning content dissemination to ensure a consistent brand look and voice. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

  • Publicize all aspects of the athletic department through social media, website and other emerging platforms.
  • Ensure all digital communications align with the athletic departments brand guidelines and visual identity.
  • Develop and implement a strategic social media plan and calendar, monitoring engagement and identifying trends to optimize reach and interaction with fans.
  • Track key digital metrics, analyzing data to measure campaign performance and make data-driven adjustments to strategy.
  • Collaborate with campus peers and local organizations on digital initiatives to ensure maximum exposure.
  • Create content as needed, including videos, graphics and images to tell the story of FIU Athletics.
  • Coordinate content days for teams, organizing photo and video stations. Archive, sort and tag footage on department-used storage systems.
  • Work in a highly collaborative fashion with all brand advancement staff (communications, social media, marketing, promotions, broadcasting and live productions) in the creation, planning and execution of creative content for various distribution channels.
  • In conjunction with the Van Wagner partnership team, ensure digital contractual sponsorship assets are fulfilled while protecting the integrity of the athletic departments brand identity.
  • Adheres to all State of Florida, University, NCAA, Sun Belt Conference, and department rules and regulations. Reports any known NCAA violations or concerns to the Director of Athletic Compliance. Must attend NCAA compliance training every year.
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and four (4) years of appropriate experience; OR Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two (2) years of appropriate experience; OR eight (8) years of appropriate experience; OR an equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience.

Desired Qualifications

  • Comfortable with tight deadlines and the ability to answer to multiple constituents and prioritize projects, including working on numerous projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to incorporate feedback to improve digital content and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Extensive functional knowledge of social media platforms, and experience managing/developing a brand/team website and mobile app.
  • Experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite.
  • Strong organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
