At Advantage Technical we have partnered with a leader in manufacturing high-performance solutions for the defense, aerospace, and space industries, and are seeking a Buyer/Planner to join our team in Endicott, NY. Our client specializes in thermal management solutions and high-reliability manufacturing processes, supporting mission-critical programs vital to national security.

Salary: $65,000 - $90,000/yr.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and efficiency.
  • Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure timely deliveries and favorable terms.
  • Forecast demand and coordinate with internal teams to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Monitor industry trends, supplier opportunities, and cost fluctuations to refine purchasing decisions.
  • Secure competitive agreements that align with company objectives and cost-saving goals.
  • Utilize analytics to assess purchasing performance and identify supply chain improvements.
  • Identify potential supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Work with teams across operations, finance, and R&D to support business needs.
  • Continuously improve procurement and planning workflows for increased efficiency.


Qualifications:



  • Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset.
  • Knowledge of supply chain best practices, inventory management, and ERP systems (Infor Visual preferred).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong team player with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field preferred; relevant experience and certifications like CPSM are a plus.
