At Advantage Technical we have partnered with a leader in manufacturing high-performance solutions for the defense, aerospace, and space industries, and are seeking a Buyer/Planner to join our team in Endicott, NY. Our client specializes in thermal management solutions and high-reliability manufacturing processes, supporting mission-critical programs vital to national security. Salary: $65,000 - $90,000/yr. Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement sourcing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and efficiency. Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure timely deliveries and favorable terms. Forecast demand and coordinate with internal teams to maintain optimal stock levels. Monitor industry trends, supplier opportunities, and cost fluctuations to refine purchasing decisions. Secure competitive agreements that align with company objectives and cost-saving goals. Utilize analytics to assess purchasing performance and identify supply chain improvements. Identify potential supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies. Work with teams across operations, finance, and R&D to support business needs. Continuously improve procurement and planning workflows for increased efficiency. Qualifications: Strong negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills with an analytical mindset. Knowledge of supply chain best practices, inventory management, and ERP systems (Infor Visual preferred). Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and a strong team player with a continuous improvement mindset. Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field preferred; relevant experience and certifications like CPSM are a plus.
