We are seeking a Category Leader - Direct Mail to join our team. In this role, you will manage the Direct Mail category to drive growth and maximize profitability. You will act as the bridge between various teams, including marketing, sales, technology and operations to ensure we deliver value to both the customer and the business. The ideal candidate has a solid background in category management, people leadership, customer service, a strong sense of market trends, and a creative and entrepreneurial mindset. This role reports directly to the Taylor Print Impressions Business Unit President.

Objectives:

  • Successfully grow revenue and increase customer base within assigned category.
  • Build and execute strategies to increase market share, improve customer experience, and improve internal efficiencies within the assigned category.
  • Build trust within the organization and within our customers as a subject matter expert for the assigned category.
  • Develop and actively track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of the assigned category.
  • Participate in industry events and curate market information to promote our organization and build and execute a long-term strategy for the assigned category

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with sales to successfully grow revenue and customer base within the assigned category
  • Lead strategic efforts to identify opportunities for growth and innovation within assigned category.
  • Prepare and deliver customer presentations to map customer needs with our capabilities
  • Gather and prioritize customer requirements.
  • Support sales teams to close opportunities and lead customer onboarding efforts
  • Collect feedback from customers & stakeholders to determine what features and improvements are needed.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, operations, and technology product owners to bring the category to market.
  • Work closely with technology team to maintain a roadmap for technology enhancements.
  • Recommend creative production options to reduce cost and/or increase profitability.
  • Assess current competitor offerings and propose strategy changes due to competitive changes in the marketplace.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of category specialists, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Partner with finance to set budgets and track category financial performance.
  • Identify key metrics and KPIs for success, adjusting strategy as needed.
  • Monitor performance by analyzing data and user feedback to make informed decisions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Strong experience in product / category management with 10+ years of experience in the field
  • Strong customer-facing experience and a high level of comfort in complex situations
  • Knowledge of production capabilities and technology requirements needed for execution.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills, with experience in building and developing high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success working on cross functional teams to achieve positive outcomes
  • Ability to present technical ideas and concepts to senior leadership
  • Strong written, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Build compelling value propositions for customers during product strategy
  • Familiar with a variety of product management concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected
  • Ability to work independently and on multiple projects
  • Tenacious and relentless in executing their category strategy
  • Requires travel up to 25% of the time.
