Description

Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Plans, implements and maintains a preventive maintenance program for all plant equipment.
  • Evaluates maintenance needs and makes recommendations for new equipment and design changes to improve safety, increase efficiency and reduce operating costs.
  • Establishes work assignments and schedule for maintenance employees and training when necessary.
  • Maintain plant air and refrigeration compressors and air conditioning units.
  • Supervises and monitors plant inedible grease and oil recovery and removal.
  • Maintains high standards of housekeeping practices within the department and where repair work is done to encourage neat, clean work areas conducive to maximum safety, productivity and efficiency.
  • Evaluates requests for maintenance service, determines service required, time involved and whether to repair or replace damaged or defective parts or components.
  • Supervises and directs the taking of periodic meter and gauge readings, chemical and other analysis of boiler room equipment functions to assure safe and efficient performance at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.



Qualifications and skills required:



  1. College, technical education, or equivalent experience. 5+ years of maintenance experience in a food processing environment.
  2. Supervisory, communication, troubleshooting and problem solving skills.
  3. Ability to achieve results through effective involvement of people.
  4. Strong management skills and commitment to working in a team environment.
  5. Computer skills with PLC application necessary.
  6. Has technical understanding of maintenance procedures.
  7. Knowledge of boilers, air compressors, refrigeration and sewage disposal.
  8. Ability to recognize problems and implement appropriate solutions.
  9. Mechanical aptitude.
  10. Sets high personal standards of performance.
  11. Has ability to handle multiple demands and shifting priorities.
  12. Promotes and pursues learning and self development.
  13. Highly motivated, self-directed and self-starter



Preferred:



  • Experience with Process Safety Management Programs
  • MN Boiler and/or Electrical licensure


Pay:



  • Salary range for the position will be $65,000 to $90,000 per year depending on experience and education.


Schedule:



  • Typical schedule will be Monday through Friday start time will be adjusted to have overlap with the night crew who starts at 6 PM. There will be occasional need to work weekends depending on production needs.
