Job Summary:

The Retail Sales Representative will represent HP Hood and its products at Retail Grocery Chains and independent stores. This position will work through an assigned territory to ensure 100% distribution on all authorized HP Hood items, while properly merchandising and rotating product.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Gain and maintain distribution of all Hood and Licensed products within assigned territory accounts.
  • Execute weekly sales programs as well as selling and building displays.
  • Conduct retail price checks on Hood and Licensed items in addition to competitive brands.
  • Continuously pack out the shelves for all Hood and Licensed products where backroom stock is available during each and every retail store visit.
  • Monitor store rotation of all product lines.
  • Maintain and update individual store diaries and route lists.
  • Interact positively with store employees to continuously build sales on all product lines.
  • Communicate directly with retail sales manager to resolve all issues in a timely manner


Education and Experience:



  • BA/BS Degree in business or a related field, preferred.
  • 1 -5 years of sales experience or retail experience with a consumer package goods manufacturer, major food broker, or retail services company desirable but not required.


Skills and Competencies:



  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Presentation skills preferred (i.e. building presentations and reporting data)
  • Ability to think critically and possess analytical aptitude
  • Knowledge of utilizing a Data Analysis System (i.e. Nielsen, IRI etc.) preferred
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self- motivated and capable of working independently
  • Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles
  • Flexibility to balance team and individual responsibilities
  • Ability and willingness to lift and stack product weighing up to 40 lbs
