Position Overview
The General Maintenance Repair Tech - Electrical position is responsible for working on a team to perform a wide variety of maintenance and emergency repair tasks to University buildings (physical structure, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems), with the employee being involved in a regular program of inspection and repair using more than one skilled trade. This position requires the operation of work issued vehicles.

Work schedule is Monday-Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. by the effective date of the appointment. Job Description 50% - Basic electrical repair including relamping, ballast changes, troubleshooting and repair of outlets, switches, and basic appliance troubleshooting. May assist electricians on additional issues including breaker, wiring, fire alarm and controls issues. May assist other trades as needed (HVAC, plumbing, carpentry etc.)
40% - Responds to emergency calls involving loss of utilities or equipment failure. Resets breakers and assists with emergency repairs. Repairs are performed as time and expertise permits. May assist senior staff with more complex repairs. 5% - Other Related Work as Assigned: Maintains an adequate supply of tools, parts, and supplies for jobs. Responds to after-hours emergency calls as needed. Assists with other maintenance areas and in other work areas as assigned.
