The School of Physical Sciences at UC Irvine is seeking to hire a Facilities Coordinator who works with the Director of Facilities to oversee daily facilities projects and building organization for seven administrative and laboratory research buildings. Uses professional skills to implement and coordinate building management procedures and administrative operational facility needs. Various facilities related operations include assisting with planning and coordination for moves and minor building infrastructure upgrades, conducting job walks, work order requests, scheduling, coordinating and tracking maintenance and work order requests, and working with external contractors and vendors. Assists with PS Stores and PS Copy Center operations as needed and liaise with the Physical Sciences Safety Coordinator in a variety of projects.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $31.67- $34.96 (Hourly).

Required:

• Working knowledge of practices and procedures of safety and emergency preparedness.
• Working knowledge of practices and procedures relating to facility maintenance.
• Excellent written communication skills to prepare a variety of correspondence, reports, policies and procedures, and training documents.
• Skills to work under pressure of deadlines in a stressful environment.
• Active listening, interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills to effectively resolve questions, concerns, issues or problems and ensure cooperative and productive working relationships.
• Skills to work independently and as part of a team.
• Working organizational skills to work on multiple projects with competing deadlines, to establish goals and work load priorities, and to meet project deadlines within time constraints.
• Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to explain procedures and policies and to interact with a diverse group of faculty, staff, and students.
• Ability to expedite all types of maintenance and work order requests and follow through to completion.
• Computer knowledge to effectively interact with online systems and application software such as Outlook, Excel and Zoom.
• Demonstrated experience with customer service mindset.
• Ability to follow through on assignments and pay attention to details.
• 1-3 years Working in facilities management or equivalent experience/training.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of facilities management policies and procedures.
• Facilities management experience in a university environment.
