Your Role on the Team

Responsible for managing the DSC, a program that is highly visible nationally. Establishes short- and long-term goals, and engages in strategic planning. Advises senior management of the direction of the program and best ways to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Works collaboratively with administrators and faculty across campus to build an equitable and inclusive environment for students with disabilities.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $104,900- $151,900 (Annual).

Required:

  • Through knowledge of the legal framework involving accommodations for disabilities through state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Thorough knowledge of procedures for resolving disability accommodation issues.
  • Ability to work in highly collaborative manner; strong problem-solving and interpersonal abilities to function as a resource to lower level staff on especially challenging, sensitive, or complex cases.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with people of diverse ethnic, racial, cultural, and socio-economic backgrounds and identities.
  • Advanced experience in speaking in front of diverse audiences and the ability to adapt materials quickly so that the audience can understand the concepts being presented.
  • Excellent decision-making and organizational skills, exercises mature professional judgment.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Excellent ability to lead and develop staff members.
  • Strong ability to work effectively within and outside of the university system in developing relationships and programs to address a wide variety of needs.
  • In depth experience with computer programs used in the university such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, case tracking systems and other programs necessary to perform the requirements of the position.
  • Ability to manage fiscal resources effectively.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the disability field, preferably in a collegiate office similar in size and scope to DSC, or in a similar setting.
  • 1-3 years experience supervising staff, including student or professional staff.

Special Conditions:

  • Must pass a background fingerprint screening.
  • Must be able to provide and/or schedule services, programming, or supervision outside of regular business hours as appropriate.
