Job Overview

The social media creative copy Specialist will collaborate closely with photo/video creators and designers throughout the creative process to craft compelling and on-brand copy. The individuals will have a deep understanding of social media best practices and the ability to adapt tone and style to various feed and paid ad units. The work will help define the brand's tone of voice and create meaningful connections with our audience across platforms. The Specialist will have prior experience working on a fast-paced social media team and can work under tight deadlines on multiple projects. This role will contribute to live event coverage in virtual command centers or on site and need to write copy in real-time. The Specialist will be up to date on fashion, beauty and lifestyle trends and work closely with strategy on reactionary content and community engagement.

What You Will Do

  • Write engaging, on-brand copy for social media posts, stories, paid ad units, and campaigns across platforms like Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, Snapchat and YouTube.
  • Adapt copy to resonate with different audiences while maintaining a consistent brand tone.
  • Collaborate with designers and creators to ensure the seamless integration of visuals and copy.
  • Bring the brand's tone of voice to life, balancing creativity with strategic objectives.
  • Continuously refine and evolve the brand's social media voice to stay fresh, engaging, and relevant.
  • Stay informed on social media best practices, trends, and platform updates to ensure copy aligns with audience expectations and platform algorithms.
  • Partner closely with the content creator team to brainstorm and concept social-first campaigns.
  • Work with cross-functional teams, including social strategy, content team, marketing strategy and merchants to align messaging with overall goals.
  • Edit and proofread copy to ensure clarity, accuracy, and impact.
  • Analyze content performance to optimize copy for engagement and conversion.
  • Stay up to date on fashion, beauty and cultural trends especially on social media.

Skills You Will Need

  • 3-5 years of experience writing copy for social media, preferably within the retail, eCommerce or editorial industry.
  • Must have experience in fashion and/or beauty category.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creative and engaging social media copy.
  • Deep understanding of social media platforms, their audiences, and best practices for feed content and paid ad units.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with designers and content creators.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in adapting tone and style to align with brand identity and audience expectations.
  • Exceptional time management and multitasking abilities to handle live events and tight deadlines.
  • Passion for storytelling and a strong understanding of our brand's voice and audience and how to translate that to social media content.
