Sr. Cloud Architect I (5754)

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Architect with experience in managing and provisioning cloud accounts, optimizing big data workloads, and implementing FinOps strategies for cost-efficient cloud operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP) and a strong understanding of cloud governance, data management, and financial optimization. This role involves architecting scalable cloud solutions, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation, and enhancing data processing capabilities in cloud environments.

What you'll do:

• Design and manage cloud account structures, access controls, and multi-account strategies for secure and scalable cloud operations.
• Implement and enforce FinOps best practices, including cost monitoring, budgeting, and resource optimization.
• Automate provisioning and de-provisioning of cloud accounts, workloads, and data pipelines using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
• Develop governance policies for cloud account security, IAM, and compliance with industry standards.
• Monitor and analyze cloud spending, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, security, and finance teams to align cloud architecture with operational and budgetary goals.
• Optimize cloud data storage solutions (Amazon S3, Azure Data Lake, Google Cloud Storage, OCI Object Storage) for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Implement automated scaling strategies for big data workloads to ensure optimal performance during peak usage.
• Stay informed about emerging cloud technologies, trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in architecture and cost management.

What you'll need to succeed:

• An active Secret DoD clearance
• 4-6 years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure management, or cloud financial operations (FinOps).
• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS, Azure, OCI, or GCP).
• Experience managing and provisioning cloud accounts, IAM policies, and resource allocation.
• Proficiency in big data services such as AWS EMR, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery, or OCI Data Flow.
• Experience implementing FinOps strategies, including cost tracking, optimization, and cloud spending analysis.
• Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent tools) for automation and governance.
• Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security, and compliance frameworks.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
