Position Overview:

The Vertical Market Manager - Safety & Security will drive our strategic initiatives within the safety and security sectors. This role requires a visionary leader with deep industry knowledge and a proven track record of building strong relationships with key stakeholders in Military, Border Control, and other safety-critical environments. The ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to shape product development, enhance customer engagement, and ensure the successful execution of business strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership



  • Develop and implement a comprehensive business strategy for the Safety & Security vertical, aligning with company goals and market trends.


Market Analysis



  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify opportunities and challenges within the safety and security sectors, including emerging technologies and competitive landscapes.
  • Provide market and competitor intelligence on market segments where the business unit is engaged, as well as insights on competition specific to individual opportunities.


Customer Engagement



  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, industry stakeholders, and government agencies to understand their needs and drive product innovation.
  • Shape, identify, capture, and manage strategic opportunities that support business strategies.
  • Work with Marketing Director to:

    • Define the marketing messaging for the S&S space
    • Help determine the best industry opportunities to exhibit at and present our product offerings
    • Participate in media outreach programs via thought leadership articles, blogs, and interviews




Product Development



  • Collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to guide the development of new Raman analytical products tailored for military, border control, and safety applications.


Sales & Marketing Support



  • Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns, effective sales strategies and training programs that enhance product visibility and customer adoption. Aid in the development of new partners and existing partner relationships.


Regulatory Compliance



  • Ensure that all products meet industry standards and regulations, particularly for military and safety applications, and manage certifications as necessary.


Team Leadership



  • Lead and mentor a team of professionals dedicated to the Safety & Security vertical, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.


Budget Management



  • Oversee the vertical's budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve business objectives.


Performance Metrics



  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of initiatives and make data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in the safety and security sector, with a focus on analytical instrumentation or related technologies.
  • Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory environments and compliance requirements in military and safety sectors.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to drive business growth.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with customers and attend industry events.
