Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Perform clinical services, including intakes and therapeutic interventions such as group, individual, and family therapy, and crisis intervention as it relates to specific research. Maintain and complete service documentation such as psychosocial assessments, case notes, and case reviews, according to prescribed standards, clinical rating scales, and obtains co-signatures of Informed Consents and guardian approval as required by state and federal law. Adhere to approved IRB protocols, requirements, and other requests. Assist in tracking overall project timeline to ensure project deliverables are completed with fidelity that includes but not limited to assessing, evaluating, and giving feedback for each participants' progress in goals and objectives. Conduct screening assessments to determine current and future treatment-based research requirements. Conduct blinded face-to-face individual and group session components or research interview, as defined by specific research. Analyze demographic and clinical information, as described, to confirm eligibility criteria for participation in the program and ensure complete data acquisition and address any missing data. Collaborate with external agents including school officials, family members, and other health agencies regarding organizational programs and client needs and conditions. Assist Project Coordinator - Research with assessing, evaluating, and providing corrections and recommends solutions to problems associated with implementation of the study methods, procedures, and EBT techniques. Attend and participate in staff meetings, treatment planning meetings, case conferences, and clinical seminars providing information relating to research program administration and development. Maintain appropriate written and oral communication. Maintain confidentiality of the client and employee Meet at least monthly with clinical research supervisor to review research study progress and ensures proper documentation of clinical supervision in client record. Performs other duties, as required by the agency including and not limited to face to face clinical contact with clients during referral intake assessment, evaluation of diagnosis and psychiatric symptoms, and clinical support in individual and group settings.

EDUCATION

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Master's degree in public health, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation or related field of behavioral healthcare preferred.

EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in research including research interviewing experience, recruitment of study subjects, collection and management of study data, and experience working on a research team preferred.
  • Proven skills, knowledge base, and judgment necessary for managing research staff.
  • In some cases, experience may be substituted for academic training.
  • Ability to communicate and interact with all clients of the mental health organizations in a way that respects the dignity of the person, that is culturally sensitive and appropriate, and that is free from discrimination on the basis of race, color, sex, language, religion, political or other opinion, ethnic or social origin, or other status.
  • Ability to be sensitive to social challenges such as living and financial circumstances or other past or ongoing stressful life events that participants may face, and document how these experiences may influence their physical and mental health well-being.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with participants and maintain sensitivity to any mental, physical, or functional limitations they may have.
  • Knowledge and experience working with people with serious mental illness and/or experience working on a research project.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Effective oral and written skills.
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential capacity.
  • Ability to use word processing and spreadsheet software (MS Excel, PPT, Word).
