Technology Systems Designer

Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position available for a Technology Systems Designer.

Responsibilities include:

• Designing communications, security and audio-visual infrastructure and layout of technology rooms for new and renovation projects
• Participating in technical meetings with clients, construction staff, and project team members
• Assisting with review of reports, specifications, plans, schedules, and studies
• Assisting with the development of construction cost estimates
• Performing construction administration tasks and site inspections
• Regular travel will be required.

The successful candidate will have:

• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) or Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) certification or the ability to obtain at least one certification listed within two years of hire, and a combination of education and/or experience totaling seven years of relevant experience.

Any of the following is acceptable.

• Associate degree (or higher) in technology design, engineering technology, or related field plus five years of experience in building design or construction (technology systems preferred)
• If no degree, must have at least seven years of experience related to building design (at least four years of technology systems experience).

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

• Designing technology (ICT) systems involving new and/or building renovation projects
• Designing security electronic systems
• Participating in technical meetings with clients and project teams
• Designing low voltage and/or electrical systems
• Revit, AutoCAD and BIM (Building Information Modeling) software
• Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI)
• American Society for Industrial Security (ASIS) Physical Security Professional (PSP) certification or related registrations or certifications.

Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000 (annual) - Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience skill set or location.
