OUR IMPACT

WM Operations Risk and Resilience is a team of Embedded Risk Managers (ERMs) that closely partners with WM Operations leadership and team managers to continuously measure and assess levels of risk for existing and new processes within the subdivision. The ERMs utilize components of the Operations Risk Management Framework to improve the consistency of risk measurement and risk assessment practices across the subdivision.

Our team is responsible for coordinating the Operations Risk Management framework activities across our subdivision, with a particular focus on risk reporting, remediation, and governance. Other key responsibilities include proactively improving the risk and control framework across Operations through more objective control assessments, conducting post-implementation reviews, and developing risk training programs and risk management tools.

Our team of critical thinkers partners with groups in all areas of the firm to perform data analytics and reporting. The role includes leveraging key contacts in the division, managing senior leadership conversations, driving risk meetings on a weekly basis, facilitating the Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) process, performing targeted risk assessments, and using personal initiative to ensure appropriate judgment in both planning and event management.

We are looking for a proactive self-starter with a strong passion for data analytics and a keen interest in applying these skills to report on and mitigate risks within a highly dynamic environment.

In this role, you will help develop reporting that will help drive data-driven decision making and enhance our ability to continuously improve our risk management culture and control environment. You will apply your quantitative, problem-solving skills to provide insights in to controls performance and key risk indicators while defining the broader divisional data strategy and tooling.

The ideal candidate will possess the ability to work independently while effectively liaising with senior stakeholders across Operations and Federation teams globally.

Basic Qualification



  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and identify trends, ensuring that insights are actionable and relevant to the business context.
  • Proficiency in using statistical and analytical tools to interpret data and provide meaningful recommendations.
  • Experience with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or QlikView, with a proven track record of creating and managing interactive dashboards and comprehensive reports.
  • Ability to leverage BI tools to transform raw data into insightful visualizations that support decision-making processes.
  • Strong skills in data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring data integrity and accuracy throughout the data lifecycle.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, capable of conveying complex data insights in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to present findings and recommendations effectively, tailoring the communication style to the audience's needs.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in work, ensuring that all data analyses and reports are free from errors and inconsistencies.
  • Ability to spot inconsistencies and errors in data, taking corrective actions to maintain data quality.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities, enabling the development of innovative solutions to complex risk issues.
  • Ability to approach problems methodically, using data-driven insights to inform decision-making.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, coordinating efforts to achieve project goals.
  • Understanding of relevant regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring that BI practices adhere to industry standards and Firm policies.

  • Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex data insights to senior management and other key stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing projects and meeting deadlines, ensuring that BI initiatives are delivered on time and within scope.
  • Proficiency in advanced analytical techniques such as predictive analytics, machine learning, and statistical modeling, which can provide deeper insights and more accurate risk assessments.
  • Experience with low-code automation platforms to streamline and enhance operational processes, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency.
