2025 Summer Intern - Health Equity

This internship provides an opportunity to apply analytical, strategic, and cross-functional collaboration skills to a real-world healthcare challenge while contributing to meaningful health equity efforts.

This internship position is located in South San Francisco, CA - On site

The Opportunity

This internship is designed for individuals passionate about health equity and business strategy and sits within the Commercial, Medical, and Government Affairs organization. As a Health Equity Intern, you will work on a high-impact project focused on understanding and addressing access disparities in key therapeutic areas and geographies. Your project will include one or more of the following:

  • Build on the landscape analysis by identifying key insights and filling any gaps.

  • Research existing health equity programs and find opportunities to collaborate.

  • Help develop data-driven recommendations to improve access to healthcare.

  • Support efforts to measure the impact of health equity initiatives.

  • Summarize research into clear takeaways to guide future work.

Program Highlights

  • Intensive 12-weeks, full-time (40 hours per week) paid internship.

  • Program start dates are in May/June (Summer)

  • A stipend, based on location, will be provided to help alleviate costs associated with the internship.

  • Ownership of challenging and impactful business-critical projects.

  • Work with some of the most talented people in the biotechnology industry.

Who You Are (Required)

Required Education

You meet one of the following criteria:

  • Must have attained a Bachelor's Degree (not currently enrolled in a graduate program).

  • Must be pursuing a Master's Degree (enrolled student).

Required Majors: Public Health, Health Policy, Business Administration, Economics, Data Science, Social Sciences, or related fields.

Required Skills

  • Passion for health equity, healthcare, or related fields.

  • Strong research and data analysis skills.

  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive).

  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication.

  • Ability to think strategically and solve problems.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

  • Interest or familiarity with health equity, social determinants of health, or healthcare systems.

  • Experience with research, data analysis, or social impact initiatives.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and engage with a variety of stakeholders (healthcare systems, community organizations, etc.).

  • Strong organizational and project management skills.

  • Passion for evaluating and measuring the impact of health equity efforts on both patient outcomes and business results.

Relocation benefits are not available for this job posting.

The expected salary range for this position based on the primary location of California is $23-$40 hour. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for paid holiday time off benefits.
