Overview
With its broad and multidisciplinary faculty expertise, the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute ( EOHSI) is an international resource that supports basic and clinical research in environmental health sciences and exposure assessment and fosters associated programs in environmental health education and public policy.

Established in 1986, EOHSI's major objectives are to:
Advance understanding of the mechanisms by which environmental and occupational chemical exposures impact human health.
Identify and measure human environmental and occupational exposures to chemicals. Treat populations adversely affected by chemical exposures. Develop educational tools describing relative risks of chemical exposures. Contribute to public policies related to environmental and occupational chemical risks. Offer training programs for environmental health professionals.

The Institute serves as an unbiased source of expertise about environmental problems for communities, employers and governments in all areas of occupational and environmental health, toxicology and risk assessment. EOHSI members are active as advisors to international, national, state and local organizations on public health issues.

Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey has opening for Clinical Research Coordinator III within the Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences Institute, located in Piscataway, NJ. Under supervision, participates in the administration of the federally contracted World Trade Center Health Program at Rutgers. Works across the healthcare spectrum to coordinate patient care in adherence with programmatic guidelines and quality objectives. Coordinates varied aspects of healthcare operations such as referral and pre-authorization management and assists in pharmacy benefits coordination.
Duties include:

  • Conducts referral and pre-authorization requests to in network specialty providers. Reviews incoming requests for administrative compliance with the WTC Health Program codebook.
  • Assists with pharmacy and medication related inquiries and educates program members on pharmacy benefits.
  • Provides education to program members, network providers, and interest groups on the World Trade Center Health Program.
  • Assists in quality assurance initiatives for the World Trade Center Health Program. Upon request, conducts data analysis of cohort trends for use in contractual reporting and assists with meeting contractual requirements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare related field.
  • One (1) year of professional experience working in a clinical environment required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat a must.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a pharmacy setting
  • Current active credentials with the RWJ Epic Electronic Medical Record system
