App Support Team - SQL

Peraton is seeking a highly motivated, self-directed individual, to fill the role of App Support Team Structured Query Language (SQL). This position is responsible for supporting the Application Support team SQL Operations and engineering. The SQL engineer will be responsible for supporting the operations and maintenance of the SQL databases.

Role & Responsibilities

Installing, configuring, and maintaining SQL databases
• Participate in incident management activities for SQL databases
• Design, develop and maintain SQL databases for customer applications
• Design scalable databases, creating SQL queries, ensuring system stability, and troubleshooting issues.
• Develop procedures for database security, backup, and recovery for SQL databases
• Participate in the documentation of activities, system changes, testing, procedures, policies, and standards for SQL databases
• Setting up and maintaining SQL user accounts
• Provide technical expertise, respond to taskings, etc.
• Work closely with IT operation delivery teams, project managers, solution engineers and government counterparts to ensure approved scheduled maintenance is completed
• Interact with the customer on an as needed basis regarding SQL databases
• Communicate status of ongoing work and any issues that arise to management in a timely manner

Basic Qualifications

• US Citizen with the ability to obtain an entry on duty security clearance
• 8+ years' experience with SQL database engineering
• Strong understanding of change, release, and configuration management, and their interaction
• Knowledge of Client business environment and requirements
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent teamwork skills
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities and use of judgment
• Ability to work effectively in a distributed work environment/self-starter

Preferred Qualifications

• Eligible for an Entry on Duty or Public Trust Clearance
• Knowledge of the ServiceNow platform
• Knowledge of security fundamentals
• Knowledge of networking fundamentals
• Knowledge of cloud operations
• Possess an Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundations 4 certification or the ability to obtain within one month
