Payroll Coordinator

Location: McCoy Group Corporate Office, Dubuque

Truck Country is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Coordinator to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for processing weekly payroll for multiple company divisions while ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. If you have payroll experience, strong analytical skills, and a passion for accuracy, we'd love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:



  • Process and input payroll data to ensure accurate and timely weekly payroll for all employees.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal wage and hour laws.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports, including gross payroll, hours worked, PTO accruals, tax deductions, and benefits.
  • Address payroll-related inquiries and enforce payroll policies.
  • Post payroll and taxes to the general ledger through weekly journal entries.
  • Process weekly wage garnishment payments as required by law.
  • Identify and recommend payroll process improvements for greater efficiency.
  • Maintain regular onsite attendance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.



Qualifications & Skills:



  • Previous payroll processing experience or a 2-year degree in Accounting required.
  • Basic accounting knowledge preferred.
  • Understanding of payroll processes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems and spreadsheet applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and time management skills.
  • Thorough attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.



Work Environment & Physical Requirements:



  • Office-based role with frequent use of a computer.
  • Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
  • Occasionally lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs.
