AsSr. Systems Engineer I, you'll manage and develop tactical hardware components, including routers, switches, operating systems, hypervisors, and other critical systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience configuring internal and external networks, with a strong background in Army or tactical networking environments. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining hardware solutions to ensure mission-critical operations are reliable, secure, and scalable. - Configure and deploy tactical hardware components, including routers, switches, and hypervisors.
- Design and implement network configurations to support mission-critical operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and network issues in real-time, both remotely and on-site as needed.
- Collaborate with IT and operational teams to integrate hardware solutions with broader system architectures.
- Document hardware configurations, system changes, and operational procedures.
- Monitor hardware performance and conduct regular maintenance to ensure reliability and scalability.
- Support field operations by deploying and validating hardware solutions in tactical environments.
- Evaluate new hardware technologies and recommend solutions to improve system performance and resilience.
What you'll need to succeed:
- An active DoD Secret clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5-7+ years of experience managing and developing tactical hardware solutions, including routers, switches, and hypervisors.
- Extensive experience with Army or tactical networking systems
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or similar.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (e.g., Linux, Windows) and hypervisors (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Expertise in network protocols, routing, switching, and firewall configurations.
- Familiarity with Army tactical networks, such as WIN-T, JNN, or similar systems, is a must.
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and DoD security requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for hardware and network-related issues.
- Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to work in collaborative team environments.
