As Instruction Designer, you'll be responsible for learning our case management application and creating comprehensive training materials, end-user brochures, and training plans. This role aims to train new users in how to use the system, promote adoption, and position new bureaus for long-term success with the application. - Training Material Development: Create detailed and user-friendly training materials, including manuals, guides, and video tutorials tailored to various learning styles and user needs.
- Training Plans: Design comprehensive training plans that cater to different levels of user expertise, ensuring a structured and effective learning experience.
- End-User Guides: Develop engaging and informative guides highlighting key features and benefits of the case management application to encourage end-user adoption.
- Application Mastery: Gain a thorough understanding of the case management application, including its features, functionalities, and benefits.
- Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness.
- Conduct Training Sessions: Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions for end-users, providing hands-on guidance and support.
- User Support: Offer ongoing support and assistance to users during application rollout and updates to ensure smooth adoption and integration of the application.
- Proactive Support: Anticipate potential challenges and provide solutions before issues escalate, ensuring a smooth customer experience.
- Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from training sessions and user interactions to continuously improve training materials and strategies.
- Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, regularly checking in to understand their needs and gather feedback.
- Marketing the Application: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop strategies and materials that effectively market the case management application to organizational bureaus.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in training, instructional design, or a related field, preferably within a governmental or large organizational context.
- Must be on-site 2 days per week in downtown DC.
- Strong understanding of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
- -Proficiency in creating training materials using various tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) and familiarity with case management systems.
- Experience conducting skill assessments and collecting input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt training methods to suit different audiences and learning styles.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of stakeholders and end-users.
- Effective time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
