Essential Functions

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
• Develop, implement, and oversee all aspects of the strength and conditioning program, including planning practices, game strategies, and player development.
• Foster a team culture that prioritizes sportsmanship, inclusivity, and the holistic development of student-athletes.
• Oversee injury prevention strategies in collaboration with athletic trainers and coaching staff.
• Manage and maintain weight room facilities, ensuring safety and proper use of equipment.
• Provide leadership and education on proper training techniques, recovery, and nutrition.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and institutional rules and regulations.
• Serve as a mentor and advocate for student-athletes, supporting their academic, personal, and career goals.
• Uphold the institution's mission and values while striving to achieve competitive success.
• Utilize technology and data analytics enhance training programs and monitor athlete progress.
• Supervise and mentor graduate assistant coaches, student workers, volunteers, and interns.

• Strength and Conditioning Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of training methodologies, injury prevention, and performance enhancement for multiple sports.
• Technology Integration: Experience leveraging sports science technology, data tracking, and performance monitoring tools.
• Effective Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with student-athletes, colleagues, alumni, and other stakeholders.
• Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a collaborative athletic department and contribute to the institution's broader mission.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or a related field.

AND

Experience:

• A minimum of three years of S&C coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level

Minimum Certifications, Registration or License Requirements:

• NSCA Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certification required.
• CPR/AED certification required.
