Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time

$2,130.46 biweekly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Central Area/Cocoa Transit Center/Travels Countywide. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and may include evenings and Saturdays. Performs skilled professional work in the coordination and oversight of safety, security, and training programs within the Transit Services Department.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Risk Management, Safety Engineering or closely related field, PLUS two (2) years of technical or professional experience in safety or training coordination. Additional qualifying education and/or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. Transit bus experience is preferred. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida driver's license. Must possess, or obtain within six (6) months of employment a valid Florida CDL Class B with P endorsement and no airbrake restrictions and must maintain said license and endorsement during the term of employment. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, National Incident Management System (NIMS) Certification for emergency response. Must possess, or obtain within twelve (12) months of employment, a valid Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FDHSMV) CDL Examiner certification and maintain said certification duringthe term of employment. All applicants must fill out and sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character. All applicants will be required to pass a Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) physical from an approved medical provider. Must be able to successfully complete a criminal, a driver's license, and a personal background investigation conducted by Brevard County and/or another agency.In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.This position is a safety sensitive position as defined by the Federal Transit Administration's (FTA) Drug and Alcohol Testing regulations.
