Summary: The ProductionManager manages all activities related to operations and the production of seafood products by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Directs department supervisors and manages or oversees the coordination of production, distribution and warehousing according to Trident policies and procedures. May manage overall operation of a single species plant.
  • Develops, oversees and/or implements operational goals and SOP's.
  • Participates in budget process and supervises teams to ensure adherence to budgets.
  • Coordinates with appropriate personnel to determine type and quantities of products to produce.
  • Oversees staff allocation and schedules to meet production needs.
  • Participates in interviews and candidate selection as appropriate.
  • Coordinates with appropriate cross functional teams on new employee training and ongoing training and development.
  • Manages production staff, gives direction on work schedules and assignment of duties.
  • Ensures policies and procedures meet all regulatory compliance, risk analysis recommendations, corporate policies and audit directives.
  • Conducts or directs internal audits and inspections of production performance, compliance and activities as directed.
  • Assists with or facilitates onsite compliance audits. Ensures proper and timely completion of corrective actions.
  • Manage direct reports, assign work to staff, provide coaching and training, set goals, is accountable for performance evaluation, plan staff development, and assist with people management decisions

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Acquires knowledge of Trident's Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years supervision/leadership experience
  • Continuous Improvement / Lean manufacturing experience is a must. Green Belt or higher certification preferred
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing people and supply logistics in remote Alaska.
  • Effective at communicating with people from diverse cultures.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office programs
  • Must be flexible, innovative, and comfortable in setting own priorities and driving same to the production floor
  • Able to work both independently and within a team generating results with general/minimal guidance.
