Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Forging Robotics Press Operator, you will be instrumental in the forging process within the automotive manufacturing industry. Your primary responsibility will be to operate and oversee robotic press systems to shape metal components with precision and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Material Handling: Tagging all materials and separating them by lot numbers to ensure traceability and organization.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform regular quality checks, including visual and dimensional inspections, at appropriate intervals for both hot press and cold press operations.
  • Tool Usage: Utilize hand tools and power tools as required for setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Mechanical and Quality Troubleshooting: Take ownership of mechanical and quality issues, troubleshooting them efficiently to minimize downtime and maintain production standards.
  • Die Cassette Maintenance: Dismantle and assemble die cassettes for both new and existing product numbers, ensuring smooth operation of hot press and cold press equipment.
  • Blueprint and Schematic Interpretation: Refer to drawings and schematics to understand equipment setup, operation procedures, and troubleshooting methods for both hot press and cold press processes.
  • Shot Blast Machine Maintenance: Monitor shot blast machines, replenishing media when necessary and removing old media as required to maintain optimal performance.
  • Lubrication Tank Maintenance: Clean lubrication tanks as needed to prevent contamination and ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Manual Sorting and Stacking: Hand-sort parts and stack materials as required, contributing to the efficiency of the production line.
  • Additional Skills (Preferred):

    • Experience in warm and cold forging processes is advantageous.
    • Proficiency in troubleshooting mechanical issues and using various gauges for quality control purposes.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, EDUCATION, AND ABILITIES:




  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training or certification in forging operations preferred.
  • Proven experience in operating forging presses and familiarity with hot and cold forging processes.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for equipment setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, and schematics to understand equipment specifications and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining quality standards.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing production requirements.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.


PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS:



  • Lift and Carry: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds occasionally
  • Standing & Walking: Ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances, often on concrete or uneven surfaces and up and down steps.
  • Repetitive Motion: Capable of performing repetitive tasks, including grasping, lifting, twisting and bending.
  • Hand-eye coordination: Ability to use hands and fingers to handle and feel objects, tools, and controls and make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls.
  • Fine Motor Skills: Ability to use manual dexterity to operate levers, buttons, and controls
  • Vision & Attention to Detail: good close, distance, and peripheral vision, as well as the ability to adjust focus and ensure safe operations, including reading gauges and safety indicators.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to maintain focus and physical energy throughout the workday, which may include handling loads, stacking, and organizing materials in a fast-paced environment.
  • Balance & Mobility: Must have good balance and be able to move freely in tight spaces.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ability to work in various conditions including varying temperatures, exposure to manufacturing oils and fluids and moderate noise levels.
