The Division of Enrollment Management is a key campus thought partner that provides collaborative leadership in university-wide efforts, utilizing systematic, innovative, and synergistic approaches to leverage a data-informed enrollment strategy to improve market distinctiveness, and execute the campus strategic plan. The division comprises the offices of Enrollment Management, Financial Aid & Scholarships, University Registrar, and Undergraduate Admissions.

Your Role on the Team

The Senior Admissions Counselor, First-Year Outreach has significant responsibilities for project coordination and leadership in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions (UGA). Applies skills as a seasoned, experienced admissions professional, to develop a comprehensive outreach strategy for attracting and yielding transfer students. Provide information to prospective students and ensure good
relationships with the public and institutions and organizations involved in outreach. Independently reviews applications for admission, using professional judgment in determining whether applicant meets the requirements for admission, and taking into account a variety of requirements. Recommends improvements to the program.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $63,800- $68,000 (Annual).

Required:

  • Thorough knowledge and experience working with a diverse student population.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate University policies and procedures to prospective students and the public.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with schools, universities, community organizations, and other institutions.
  • Ability to develop recruitment programs, and design effective materials.
  • Knowledge of and experience in conducting intersegmental relations for the purposes of outreach, advising, program planning.
  • Working knowledge of and experience in marketing to transfer students, including market segmentation best practices, communications plans, social media and networking, web site design and development.
  • Negotiation skills and professional presence in working with top-level administrators and effective counseling skills to work with students.
  • 5-10 years relevant work experience

Preferred:

  • Thorough and comprehensive knowledge of academic programs, including curricula and admissions requirements, at UC specifically, UCI.
  • Detailed knowledge of academic majors and programs, career programs, and students services at UCI, the UC system, with general knowledge of same at other institutions of higher education.

  • Frequent travel outside of normal business hours
