Catering Event Sales Manager
The Embassy Suites in Rockford is looking for a full time Catering Event Sales Manager who is committed to providing first class service as part of a collaborative team.

As the Catering Event Sales Manager on our team, you will complete a variety of tasks which will include:
1. Partner with the Director of Sales and General Manager to maximize revenue in conference center

sales.

2. Participate in all aspects of conference center sales efforts, with a special focus on market segments

assigned. Attend all weekly sales and catering meetings to ensure events go as planned.

3. Execute and examine strategies as outline in Revenue Road Map, and Sales and Marketing Plan,

adjusting as needed based on current market conditions.

4. Oversee total revenue from room rentals, conferences, and food sales, ensuring market performance

aligns with budget, forecast, and business goals.

5. Develop and implement pricing, sales strategies, and occupancy plans.

6. Proactively seek and secure bookings from various markets to maintain a strong sales pipeline and

support hotel's profitability.

7. Collaborate with Director of Sales and General Manager on social media and marketing initiatives.

8. Assist in production and edits of e-kit, fact sheets, and website updates.

9. Lead and participate in client meetings, providing site tours, and building rapport.

10. Develop and present persuasive verbal and written sales presentations and materials to prospective

clients.

11. Prepare operational reports, such as, annual and monthly forecasts, lead and productivity, Delphi trace

reports, functional calendars, and sales meeting minutes.

12. Prepare, implement, and compile data for strategic catering plan, monthly reports, annual goals,

catering budget, forecasts, and other reports as directed.

13. Develop catering deployment strategies through review of competitive data, demand analysis, and mix

management.

14. Research and stay up to date on travel industry trends, market conditions, and economic factors

affecting business.

15. Represent hotel professionally at community and industry events, increasing market presence through

networking, associations, and local involvement.

16. Travel as needed to attend trade shows and conferences to promote the hotel and secure business

opportunities.
The position is ideal for someone with the following experience and qualities:
1. Bachelor's degree in a related field, or equivalent education and experience required.

2. Five or more years of experience in event sales in a hotel of similar level preferred.

3. Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

4. Excellent communication skills necessary.

5. Highly efficient and excellent organizational skills.

6. Possess excellent customer care and interpersonal skills.
