JOB SUMMARY

The role of the Relationship Banker is to establish and increase new and existing customer relationships. This position will have a lead role in delivering an exceptional customer experience while proactively providing solutions, building relationships, and helping consumer and small business customers achieve their financial goals. The Relationship Banker serves as a proactive member of the Retail branch team by being an initial sales and service contact for new and existing clients, opens new accounts, and is responsible for taking consumer and home equity loan applications. Performs routine operational duties, including traditional teller transactions, and other operational tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Acquire and deepen the branch customer base through a variety of proactive sales and service activities. Responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience while assisting customers with opening new accounts, consumer and home equity loan applications, account maintenance, and other customer service inquiries. Able to recognize a financial opportunity or customer need and recommend bank products and services. Achieves sales and referral goals as assigned by manager. Effectively manage a variety of customer needs, identify and resolve complex customer service issues, working knowledge of Treasury Management products and services, provides administrative assistance to Business Lenders and branch customers. Manages customer problems and complaints; takes ownership of challenging customer questions and situations, follows up to ensure resolution and customer satisfaction. Recognize and protect the bank and its customers from fraud situations. Performs all operational transactions accurately this includes daily teller transactions, balancing ATM, and a variety of customer service transactions. Supports in the day to day operations of the branch, including daily reports, balancing the branch, and completing branch schedules or other tasks as designated by manager. Maximizes personal productivity through attention to detail, self-motivation and adaptability to achieve branch and assigned personal goals. Ability to build solid relationships with team and business partners by fostering teamwork, partnership and collaboration. Participates in and helps facilitate branch team meetings.


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Attend seminars and meetings as appropriate Will be required to travel when needed to bank meetings or functions.


SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • No Supervisory responsibilities.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:




  • Customer and Personal Service - Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Economics and Accounting-Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data. English Language - Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar. Communication- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both oral and written. Sales and Marketing-Knowledge of principles and methods for promoting, and selling products or services. Clerical-Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records and other office procedures and terminology. Bank Secrecy Act - In the performance of all the respective tasks and duties, employee will maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security and bank policies and procedures.


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:




  • High school diploma or equivalent. A minimum of two years' experience in a financial institution or loan office setting. Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry Identifier (NMLS) will be required.


PHYSICAL/WORK CONDITIONS: In the performance of respective tasks and duties, the employee is expected to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. While performing duties the employee is required to sit, talk and hear frequently, lift up to 20 lbs. occasionally; may be required to work evenings and/or weekends, attend remote meetings and/or to travel.
