Job Summary

Do you have an interest in the insurance industry? Are you passionate about helping others through difficult situations by providing compassionate customer service? Property claims adjusting might be for you. This entry-level role is a great introduction into property claims. Get exposure to a number of low to moderate complexity property losses including wind, hail, and water. On top of that, work for a great company!



Responsibilities & Qualifications

Handle low to medium complexity property claims with minimal supervision and guidance from the manager. Utilize current Claims technology including Xactimate. Research and formulate a basis on which coverage decisions will be made, conduct thorough investigations and evaluate damage. Negotiate settlements with insureds. Responsibilities also include active file management, ensuring proper reserving, participation in training activities and presentation of claims to Committee. Serve as a mentor for others in the team or department. Consistently exhibit a high level of customer service and adherence to department audit guidelines.

Preferred Experience and Skills

    Proficiency with computers and current technology
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Negotiation skills and problem solving skills
  • At least 2 years prior experience handling property claims.
  • Oral and written communication skills

Preferred Education and Training

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance or related field
  • Associate in Claims designation
  • Associate in General Insurance designation
  • CPCU coursework or other continuing education
