GD Energy Products is looking for an Engineering Technician to work in Tulsa, OK.

Job Summary:

Leads physical testing efforts. Functions independently and can manage testing duties with minimal supervision. Capable of testing equipment and data acquisition systems. Passionate about developing new products and technologies with minimal guidance. Willing to perform manual tasks in support of the test cell and other related testing activities. Future responsibilities could include CAD/CAM and other product development activities training will be provided if required.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Test Cell Operation: Responsible for operating and maintaining the Tulsa test cell. May assist with operation of test cells in other facilities for engineering related testing.
  • Testing: Leads and designs physical testing of products, including data acquisition, strain gauge application, pressure testing, and other tests as needed. May be required to travel to customer locations for testing.
  • Planning: Develops and updates plans for both engineering support work and projects assigned to them.
  • Documentation: Creates and supports the creation of engineering documentation, engineering tools, and general storage of knowledge.
  • Quality: Follows ISO and internal guidelines regarding the design of new products. May assist manufacturing and quality control in correcting problems encountered in the machine shop, assembly floor, or in operation. Identifies, proposes, and participates in new systems of work to improve quality.
  • Design (Product/Technology): Works with development team and independently to generate novel and elegant solutions to design challenges. Supports the development and protection of intellectual property.
  • Design (CAD/CAM): Designs or redesigns complicated equipment and/or technical compositions. Utilizes calculations, standards, and procedures provided by the R&T Engineer or Product Engineer to complete projects. Produces designs, complex layouts, assemblies, detail parts list drawings on both the CAD system and drawing board and generates associated bills of material. Revises assembly and parts list drawings to correspond to changes made to detail drawings and bills of material.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned or directed.


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Extensive testing environment experience (preferably with operator experience) and knowledge of engineering validation test requirements.
  • Experience in working with product development teams desired.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to operate autonomously.
  • Basic Engineering calculation and report writing experience desired.
  • CAD/CAM experience (preferably with Inventor) and knowledge of drafting standards preferred.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or equivalents) or 5+ years of job specific experience required.
  • Associates Degree with minimum of 2 years' job specific experience preferred.


Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods standing and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
