Multimedia Designer
Summary:

The Multimedia Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing eLearning modules, training materials, and multimedia content that enhance course delivery and learner engagement. This role involves utilizing graphic design, animation, and web-based media to create effective and visually appealing training solutions. The Multimedia Designer collaborates with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Curriculum Developers, and Learning Management System (LMS) Administrators to produce computer-based training (CBT), web-based training (WBT), and classroom presentation materials. Additionally, the role requires ensuring compliance with SCORM standards and Section 508 accessibility requirements.


Essential Functions:

  • Design eLearning solutions delivered via electronic platforms such as CBT and WBT modules, as well as classroom-based presentation support materials.
  • Develop graphic and multimedia content to enhance training, including animations, videos, images, and interactive elements.
  • Translate complex concepts into effective visual learning experiences to ensure clarity and engagement.
  • Create and maintain eLearning course modules for the LMS by developing and editing images, photos, video, audio, and animations.
  • Design and produce training materials, logos, banners, marketing materials, stand-up classroom support materials, and training aids.
  • Collaborate with SMEs, Curriculum Developers, and USMS employees and contractors to develop instructional system design (ISD) methodology-based solutions.
  • Develop interactive web pages and web content that incorporate audio, video, and multimedia elements to enhance user engagement.
  • Ensure that all multimedia and eLearning modules comply with SCORM and Section 508 standards.
  • Assist in the production of marketing materials, web-based notices, program analysis, procedures and standards documents, SOPs, project management plans, risk assessments, and status reports.
  • Support the creation of curriculum training sequences, training manuals, teaching aids, evaluation materials, and instructional presentations.


Requirements:
Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or a related field.


Experience:

  • Five or more years of experience in:

    • Web-based media, graphic design, and production tools.
    • Designing and developing multimedia curriculum content, training materials, and instructional modules.
    • Expertise in eLearning development using Captivate, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Presenter, and Java.
    • Experience with 3D animation software to design effective training presentations.




Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in multimedia design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, and After Effects).
  • Experience developing SCORM-compliant eLearning modules.
  • Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Strong understanding of web and multimedia technologies, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for interactive content.
  • Experience with video and animation tools for creating engaging training content.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 compliance standards for accessibility.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to ensure quality and consistency in training materials.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with government contracts and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with AI-driven design tools for multimedia and eLearning development.
  • Understanding of instructional design methodologies and their application in multimedia training.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement eLearning and multimedia training solutions.
  • Create and maintain training materials, interactive assessments, and instructional graphics.
  • Design user-friendly interfaces and structured lessons that align with instructional system design (ISD) methodology.
  • Develop training content that meets DOJ LMS requirements and aligns with accessibility and compliance regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance training materials and ensure effective delivery.

  • Timeliness, accuracy, and quality of project deliverables.
  • Adherence to instructional design principles and multimedia development best practices.
  • Effectiveness of training materials in improving learner engagement and knowledge retention.
  • Compliance with SCORM, LMS standards, and Section 508 accessibility requirements.
