Your Opportunity: Venture Solutions is looking for a Mid-Level Software Developer with 5+ years mainframe experience utilizingCOBOL, VSAM and other mainframe tools.

Your Responsibilities:

Learn and maintain legacy systems

  • Develop and support custom applications
  • Coding fixes and new software development
  • Familiarity with one or more programming languages
  • Familiarity with standard development techniques (SDLC, OOD)

You Must Have:

  • 5+ years mainframe experience utilizing COBOL, VSAM and other mainframe tools
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related area
  • Ability to handle and keep track of a multitude of assignments at one time
  • Attention to detail, excellent organization skills and a sense of urgency
  • Solid analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manually debug an existing program
  • Seeking self-starter with unyielding work ethic and motivation to learn a competitive business
  • Excellent communication/documentation skills
  • Customer Service oriented
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Proactive Team Member

We Would Also Prefer:

  • Print and mail experience
  • Experience in DOS/VSE environment; Quikjob
  • Mainframe conversion experience highly desirable
  • Familiarity with Jira
