We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Data Engineer within our IT - Data Engineering group based in Houston, TX

Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and Develop Data Infrastructure: Design and implement scalable data pipelines and data focused infrastructure on AWS using core data services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, and Sagemaker.Utilize infrastructure as code tools (e.g., CloudFormation, Terraform) to automate the provisioning and management of data resources.

  • Manage Structured and Unstructured Data: Develop strategies for ingesting, processing, and storing both structured and unstructured data within the data lake and warehouse environment.Implement data governance and metadata management practices to ensure data quality, consistency, and lineage across various data sources.

  • DevOps: Establish and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data engineering processes, ensuring repeatability, reliability, and efficiency.Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate data engineering workflows into the overall CI/CD framework.

  • Ensure Data Security and Compliance: Embrace enterprise data security initiatives, implementing encryption techniques and access controls to safeguard sensitive data.Ensure compliance with our enterprise standards related to data privacy and security.

  • Provide Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide junior data engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and continuous improvement.Lead the design and implementation of data architecture and data modeling best practices to ensure data integrity, reliability, and performance.

  • Effective Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with senior leadership, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams, articulating technical concepts in business-friendly language. Collaborate closely with business users to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable insights and solutions that drive business value.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree or higher in the IT field or related field.

5 -10 years of relevant hands-on experience.
