DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Park Resource Ranger with the DCNR, you will confidently embrace a dual role in public safety and administration. Your diverse responsibilities will vary based on your assigned work location within the park, with an emphasis on practical administrative tasks. In your administrative capacity, you will expertly use programs such as Windows, Microsoft Office, and Aspira to prepare reports and manage data entry with precision. In the public safety role, you will assist visitors with questions about park facilities and regulations, patrol the park, ensure security, respond to emergencies, and manage traffic. Your tasks include light maintenance, litter cleanup, and trail marking. You will also inspect buildings for hazards and maintain safe trails, enhancing the visitor experience and ensuring a secure environment. Interested in learning more? - Seasonal full-time employment without benefits.
- Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch
- Weekends, holidays, and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Special Requirements:
- All positions require possession of an active motor vehicle license.
- All employees must obtain valid certification in standard first aid and adult, child, and infant CPR approved by the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, or equivalent within 60 days of employment.
Other Requirements:

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
