The Opportunity:

Picarro, Inc. is looking for a 'Senior Technical Program Director - Downstream' to join their Environmental Solutions team. In this role, you will guide and document product transitions out of engineering and into operations while maintaining all product technical information. Additionally, any non-standard releases or batch manufacturing needs will be executed under your direct supervision.

The successful candidate will need to be personable, have a strong product engineering background, and hold exceptional organizational / documentation skills.

Primary Duties



  • Develop a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of all products and their subsystems.
  • Organize and maintain documentation and specifications for all products and subsystems.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to ensure hardware tests effectively reveal real-world failure modes.
  • Work with software teams to compile accurate revision histories and release notes as needed.
  • Support the software QA team in testing new software releases on compatible hardware.



General Expectations:



  • Be flexible and ready to tackle a variety of technical challenges beyond your specialized niche.
  • Provide opinions with regards to design when warranted .
  • Provide emergency support (possibly onsite) for field engineers if needed.
  • Stay informed about customer and regulatory requirements affecting system design.
  • Create presentations for internal or external use when needed.
  • Train new employees when necessary.



Our total compensation packages includes base salary, bonus eligibility, and equity.

Qualifications:



  • Approximately 20+ years of experience in an industrial role as product oriented engineer / scientist.
  • Proficiency in any computer-aided design platform, preferably Solidworks.
  • Ability to interpret and create multiple types of technical documentation and drawings.
  • Ability to travel approximately < 10% of the time.
  • Strong interpersonal communications skills and ability to thrive in a team setting.
  • Ability to stay current on best practices, emerging technologies, and industry trends by self-learning.
  • Bachelors degree in any technical discipline (i.e. basic sciences and or engineering).
