Overview

Our Commercial Space team is positioned to contribute to the future of space exploration as we build partnerships with established leaders in Commercial Space. We have a need for a Data Solutions Developer. This postion will have the opportunity to play a role in various commercial space endeavors with our partners that include Axiom Space, Intuitive Machince, Lockheed Martin and others. This role will be Hybrid in Houston, TX with onsite work at Houston Spaceport as needed.

Responsibilities

The Data Solutions Developer will:

    Create automation scripts and integration packages for ETL processes, applying business logic to primary source data before loading to the centralized data store:
    • Using SQL
    • Using Python/Pandas
    • Using Power Platform
    • Using custom APIs
  • Maintain robust data architecture, following best practices for data storage, manipulation, and delivery
  • Create insightful dashboards in Sisense, Power BI, and/or other Business Intelligence platforms which improve business operations through data availability , accurancy, and actionability
  • Use SharePoint online, Power Platform and/or custom applcations to provide CRUD functionalities for data management
  • Perform required develoment, software solutions development, test and verification, solution deployment, and solution sustainment
  • Create software solutions that increase team and contract efficiencies
  • Understand data restrictions to ensure proprietary and sensitive data are appropriately controlled and data transactions are monitored
  • Perform other duties as required


Qualifications

Required Education/Experience/Skills:

  • BS degree in engineering, computer science or related disciplines from an accredited college or university
  • Experience or coursework in Data Analysis principles, including statistical, engineering, and/or scientific methodologies
  • Experience or coursework in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, Bash/Cshell, TypeScript, and/or PHP
  • Experience or coursework in SQL database design and data ETL, including data entity relationships, indexing, keys, and constraints
  • Experience or coursework in a higher-level programming language such as C#, C, C++, .NET, and/or Java
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and collaborate with team members, leadership, customers, and outside engineering teams through effective communication
  • Integrity, work ethic, team work, and innovation

Preferences:

  • Linux experience
  • Azure VM architecture experience
  • Data Analytics experience
  • Experience working in a collaborative coding environment
  • Experience using and managing Git repositories
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies

Essential Requirements:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully complete a U.S. government background investigation.

  • Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements when required.

  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
  • This position may require some commuting and traveling to other installations as needed.
