Summary: The Administrator, Association Management Services is considered the lead resource for 2-4 Association Management (AM) clients. The Administrator oversees client services that include membership, meetings, communications, governance support, and general administrative services. The position primarily works within the AM, Convention and Meetings, and Accounting teams to provide excellent client services and overall program support. This position interacts with several departments within the College including Finance, Education Joint/Sponsorship and Information Technology.

This exempt position will report to the Senior Manager, Association Management Services in the Division of Convention and Meetings. It is based in our Chicago office and is a hybrid role: 3 days per week in the office/2 days per week remote.

The anticipated salary range for this position is $62,000 - $70,000 (commensurate with related experience).

Responsibilities:



  • The position will be the main liaison to the Society of Black Academic Surgeons (SBAS). SBAS' mission is to achieve health equity, advance science, cultivate professional success and promote leadership for black and underrepresented surgeons in academia. This position will oversee administration for the group and support the Board of Directors' goals and objectives. This person will join a six-person team. This position will lead membership, communications, governance support, and general administrative services, and coordinate with the team to provide meeting and accounting services. The Administrator will plan and participate in 2-3 in-person events annually.

  • This position will be the main liaison to an ACS Chapter. The position will work within a five-person team to provide services for the Chapter. This position will lead membership, communications, governance support, and general administrative services, and coordinate with the team to provide meeting and accounting services.

  • Other client support, as needed.



Required Education and/or Experience:



  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university is required.
  • At least 4+ years of similar or related experience in administration, project coordination, communications, meeting support, governance, budget management, and/or volunteer/committee support is required.

  • Experience overseeing projects and successfully delivering on deadlines/timelines while working with multiple internal and external clients is required.

  • Non-profit or association experience is preferred but not required.

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); tech savvy with the ability to learn new software.

  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal).

  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail; ability to multi-task.
