Position Summary

An Off-Campus Work-Study Position - MUST have a Work-Study Award

Join Opera Southwest
as a generalist Administrative Intern, where you'll have the opportunity to
learn arts management "on the job" as you rotate through a diverse
range of responsibilities across multiple functional areas to find the best fit
for your career goals. Areas that interns actively participate in include:
Finance & Operations: Collaborate with our team to prepare budgets, manage
financial reporting, and manage contracst. You'll also contribute to ticket
system management, reconciliation, and various administrative projects,
ensuring meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Excel
proficiency a plus. Marketing and Communications: Play a crucial role in our
Communications & Marketing Office by assisting with material distribution,
organizing photo calls, and supporting press representation during evening
performances. Additionally, you'll coordinate marketing events & maintain
the press board. Development & Direct Executive Support: Collaborate
closely with our Executive Director to plan special events, coordinate VIP
guest visits, and provide general administrative support to the Executive
Office. You'll handle donor correspondence, manage database entries, and work
with community partners to secure in-kind donations. Professionalism,
exceptional organization, and strong interpersonal communication skills are
essential for interactions with donors and VIPs. Grants & Development
Operations: Assist the Executive Director in fundraising initiatives, including
report and proposal writing, prospect research, event coordination, and donor
communication design and management. Your role demands flexibility, attention
to detail, excellent writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks
effectively. Professionalism in donor and VIP interactions, as well as comfort
in public and social settings, is essential.

Artistic
Administration: Assist the Artistic Director & music staff in the
preparation of musical materials, casting & design research, and program
design. Gain valuable experience in arts administration while contributing to
the success of our organization
