- Act as Scrum Master for one or more agile teams, ensuring the Scrum process is followed and facilitating all Scrum ceremonies (Daily Standups, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective).
- Work closely with Product Owners and Development Teams to ensure clear communication of product backlog priorities and user stories.
- Coach team members on agile principles, ensuring continuous improvement in both the team's performance and the product's quality.
- Remove obstacles or impediments that may hinder the team's progress and foster a collaborative team environment.
- Maintain and monitor the team's progress using agile metrics (velocity, burndown charts, etc.) and provide reports to stakeholders.
- Ensure that the team adheres to agile best practices and proactively identify areas for process improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions on time and within scope.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, including facilitating retrospectives and applying feedback to enhance team processes and performance.
- Support the Product Owner in managing the product backlog and ensuring that user stories are well-defined, prioritized, and ready for development.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Active Top-Secret Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.
- 3+ years of experience as a Scrum Master or in an agile leadership role.
- Experience working in a federal government environment, with a preference for prior work with the Department of State or similar agencies.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, specifically Scrum, Kanban, and Lean practices.
- Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remove roadblocks that may impede the team's success.
- Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
