  • Base Pay Range:$82,992 to $122,429per year, based on experience.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION


  1. Oversee and guide the performance of staff through GI Lab daily operations while maintaining established standards of patient care.
  2. Provide oversight and review of the work of staff. Demonstrate appropriate methods, procedures, and processes for staff to complete expected work assignments. Frequently review staff work to ascertain the level of expectation is being met and processes are being followed. Complete evaluations and rounding to discuss goals and expectations for staff.
  3. Coordinate and implement standardized orientation and cross-training staff to all roles of the GI Lab. Ensure staff meet/complete competencies needed to perform their jobs.
  4. Organize department operations by preparing shift assignments and staff schedules (on-call & work schedule) to ensure adequate coverage for the delivery of care to the patients and needs of the department and physicians.
  5. Attest that educational materials, policies, procedures, and guidelines are properly communicated to the staff. Ensure the implementation of such is delivered consistent with MU Health Care policy while continuing to guide and support the delivery of services while maintaining compliance with pertinent laws and regulatory policies.
  6. Ensure infection control, manufacturer guidelines, regulatory guidelines, and safety standards are monitored and followed within the department.
  7. Communicate effectively with patients and families on the delivery of care and address and document any issues or complaints.
  8. Collaborate with staff, physicians, and other departmental managers to resolve patient issues or concerns that arise.
  9. Assist with formulating departmental equipment requests, supply orders, vendor calls, and preventative maintenance of equipment, and repairs within the department.
  10. Oversee ordering and maintain supplies at par levels for the department.
  11. Provide direct patient care as needed.
  12. Develop, coordinate, and maintain daily staffing schedules to ensure the appropriate level of unit coverage and continuity of care.
  13. Monitor time and attendance in alignment with MU Health Care policies and practices, ensuring accuracy of records and timely submittal/approval for payroll purposes.
  14. May complete unit/department specific duties as outlined in department documents and as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Missouri Board of Nursing RN or Nurse Licensure Compact multi-state RN. When primary state of residency changes, compact state RNs must apply under new state of residency within thirty (30) days.
  • One (1) year of acute care, procedural, operating room, or emergency department experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met with or without reasonable accommodation. The performance of these physical demands is an essential function of the job. This position is very active and requires ambulating, reaching, and moving objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs. This role also routinely comes into contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses. This position is in a health care facility open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Rotating shifts as well as holiday and work duringinclement weather will be required.
