Description

The Department of Statistics at Columbia University invites applications for adjunct faculty positions for the academic year of 2024-2025. We are looking for experienced professionals with expertise in statistics, probability, computation, and/or data science and an interest in teaching and mentoring curious and energetic students in a statistics classroom.

Adjunct faculty teaches at most one course each semester. The department offers a wide range of courses in statistics, probability, and data science at both undergraduate and graduate levels. A robust proportion of our courses are offered in the late afternoons and evenings.


Qualifications

Ph.D. in statistics or a related field by the date of appointment, as is a commitment to high-quality teaching in statistics, probability, or data science. Preference will be given to applicants with previous teaching experiences and strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:



  • Excellent teaching records in introductory courses in statistics, probability, machine learning, statistical computing, and data science.
  • Experienced industrial professionals with teaching experiences in machine learning and data science
