The Columbia University Department of Epidemiology at the Mailman School of Public Health is recruiting faculty at all ranks and in all substantive areas relevant to epidemiology. We are especially interested in: (1) candidates working in all key areas of interest to the department (see link below), particularly in the areas of gun violence prevention and infectious disease epidemiology; (2) candidates with experience conducting community or clinical intervention research, clinical epidemiology, or molecular epidemiology; and/or (3) candidates who come from backgrounds that are under-represented in the field of epidemiology and who bring perspectives to their research, teaching, and service that reflect membership in groups historically excluded from higher education and epidemiology.

Positions are tenured, tenure track, or non-tenure track, commensurate with career stage and level of achievement. Candidates will demonstrate creativity and originality and be able to lead and/or collaborate with multidisciplinary scientific teams and produce new connections, knowledge, and impact within and beyond those in the department, the school, and Columbia University. Successful candidates must demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring a diverse body of students including those belonging to groups that have been historically excluded from higher education and epidemiology.

Qualifications:

Doctoral degree in epidemiology or related field (PhD, ScD, DrPH, MD, or equivalent) required with postdoctoral training or experience preferred. Experience in teaching and mentoring and an established record, or clear future promise, of leading extramurally funded research projects are essential, as is clear description of the impact that a candidate's research, teaching, and service will have on the public's health.
