Manager - Apache Kafka

Job Summary

Expert Knowledge- Deep understanding of Apache Kafka concepts (topics producers consumers brokers streams) and/or Active MQ features (queues topics channels)

• Programming Languages: Proficiency in Java Python or other languages commonly used for Kafka and or MQ development
• System Administration: Experience managing distributed systems including cluster configuration monitoring and scaling
• Data Streaming Concepts: Knowledge of real-time data processing event-driven architectures

Responsibilities

• Architecture Design: Design and architect robust scalable data pipelines utilizing both Active MQ and/or Apache Kafka considering factors like message routing data partitioning and fault tolerance.
• Implementation: Develop and deploy Kafka and/or MQ based messaging solutions including topic creation producer/consumer configurations and stream processing logic.
• Cluster Management: Monitor and manage Kafka and/or MQ clusters ensuring high availability performance optimization and capacity planning.
• Integration: Integrate Kafka and/or MQ with various applications and systems across the enterprise including data ingestion transformation and delivery mechanisms.
• Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize data flow within Kafka and/or MQ pipelines identifying bottlenecks and implementing performance improvements.
• Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex issues related to message delivery data processing and system failures within both Kafka and/or MQ environments.
• Security: Implement robust security measures for Kafka and/or MQ clusters including access control data encryption and authentication.

Salary and Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $112,000 - $132,000 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant's discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant's applicable plans.
