Position Summary
The Accounting Manager role oversees financial and accounting functions for AMIkids; applies AMIkids policies and procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal requirements; maintains compliance with accounting standards and regulations; and support decision making to improve AMIkids financial health.

Essential Job Duties



  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the accounting department-multiple accounting functions for accurate and timely preparation and dissemination of financial management reports, internal and external monthly financial statements and annual audits and budgets,
  • Direct, monitor and develop Team Member performance and provide guidance and development in identified areas, provide credible feedback and complete performance appraisals, staffing/recruiting timely,
  • Protect assets through monitoring and enforcement of internal controls,
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements for AMIkids and Programs,
  • Support preparation of quarterly consolidated financial statements,
  • Support preparation of quarterly detailed analysis of AMIkids financial statement,
  • Monitor cash flow, including forecasting cash flow needs, and notify appropriate Leaders of cash needs,
  • Evaluate accounting processes and systems and implement optimization; update applicable policies and practices; ensure compliance through Team Member communication, training, monitoring and partnership with the Internal Audit Department,
  • Monitor systems and controls verifying the integrity of all systems, processes, and data,
  • Coordinate with the Controller to execute the external audit,
  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls,
  • May travel for work related purposes,
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education, Training, and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting,
  • Certified Public Accountant, preferred,
  • Five years supervisory experience,
  • Experience in a non-for-profit accounting preferred,
  • Knowledge of mainstream accounting software; Sage Intacct a plus,
  • Advanced knowledge in Excel,
  • Intermediate knowledge in Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint,
  • Effective communication skills (written/verbal).
