Summary of Position

We are seeking a skilled and reliable individual to fill the role ofFabrication Shop Painter. This position primarily entailspreparing, shot blasting and painting fabricated steel, along with assisting in loading and unloading steel from trucks as required. The Fab Shop Painter is crucial in maintaining efficiency and quality within our fabrication shop.

Typical Responsibilities / Essential Functions

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, wire wheel, blastingand masking as necessary.
  • Ability to Blast with all types of materials.
  • Mix and apply paint to various surfaces using hand and power tools.
  • Follow established painting techniques and procedures to achieve desired results.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and safety measures are followed while painting.
  • Maintain inventoryof blasting,painting supplies and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance onblasting andpainting equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Assist with loading and unloading steel materials from trucks as required.
  • Conduct rigging work to move materials safely and efficiently.

Experience & Education

  • Minimum ofOne Year experience in blasting, paintingand using paint sprayers to apply paint effectively.
  • Must be able to pass a respirator test and have the ability to wear respirators (full face air supplied and half face cartridge).
  • Proficiency in operating overhead cranes.
  • Demonstrated experience using and operating a forklift.
  • Ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere and communicate effectively with co-workers, clients, and supervisors.
  • Commitment to working in compliance with Kinsley's safety policies and procedures.
  • Flexibility to work any schedule, including overtime and Saturdays as needed.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Capability to tolerate hot and cold working environments.
  • Stamina to stand on feet for up to 10 hours.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
