Basic Function

HF Sinclair Midstream located in Dallas, TX is seeking a Business Development Analyst. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Business Development Analyst to join our dynamic team in a growing Midstream business unit. This role is pivotal in supporting the development and evaluation of strategic initiatives, including market analysis, customer and partnership development, and project economic evaluation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical background, excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and a curious mindset with a focus on execution.

Job Duties

(functions considered essential as defined by ADA)



  • Assists in the formulation of strategic business plans and supports cross-functional teams in executing business strategies and initiatives
  • Analyzes and forecasts financial, economic, and other data with accurate and timely information for strategic and operational decisions
  • Supports the negotiation and structuring of partnerships, joint ventures, and new commercial arrangements
  • Reads, interprets, and provides comments on commercial and partnership legal contracts
  • Builds and maintains financial models for a wide array of business opportunities and leverages them to perform intermediate financial analysis, including pre-investment risk and return profiles and post-completion value assurance
  • Produces presentations, detailed reports and executive summaries of opportunities to inform key business decisions
  • Works and communicates effectively with individuals at all levels and across all functional areas of the organization to ensure opportunities are properly evaluated and carried through to completion
  • Oversees and ensures the update of assigned performance and project management dashboards
  • Assists others in the department as needed with financial analyses, reports, and systems
  • Collects and analyzes market research to verify price information and to identify potential opportunities
  • Builds and maintains relationships with external partners, industry experts and internal stakeholders

Experience

A minimum of three years of experience in a combination of finance, oil/gas market analysis and/or related on-the-job experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, preferably in finance, engineering, business administration or related field, is required.

Required Skills

Excellent reading and writing skills and strong business acumen. Ability to effectively communicate with strong verbal communication skills, negotiation, analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills; strong interpersonal skills with a customer focus; proficient and demonstrated ability working with spreadsheets, word processing, electronic mail, and database applications; strong working knowledge of Microsoft products. Ability to implement new systems and procedures and to evaluate their effectiveness, and effectively interpret plans and procedures. Ability to identify discrepancies and determine alternative courses of action. Ability to perform moderate to complex financial analysis and mathematical calculations. Detail-oriented individual with the ability to work independently and execute plans. Must demonstrate and critical thinking and have a strong sense of ownership in job duties and assigned tasks.

Work Conditions

Office based with travel required up to 20% by land and air with occasional visits into a refinery environment. Subject to varying road and weather conditions.
