Job Summary

Ensure accurate and timely calculation, processing, and Return of Title IV funds for students who withdraw from courses or fail to maintain eligibility. Responsible for maintaining compliance with federal regulations governing the Title IV programs and accurately reporting information for internal and external parties.


Essential Duties

Manage and process the Return of Title IV (R2T4) to federal compliance regulations for both unofficial and official withdraws. Implement processes and procedures to ensure alignment with federal regulations and the institutional need to maintain compliance.

Update and monitor daily attendance verification and make necessary adjustments to student aid in
accordance with regulatory requirements.

Develop, maintain, and manage R2T4 critical dates calendar for the financial aid office and departments across the college.

Work with IT and the FA Systems team to resolve issues with data entry and extraction related to the Return of Title IV funds.

Manage student communication such as forms, emails and electronic documents related to the
Return of Title IV funds.

Actively participate in internal and external audit processes supporting the collection of data and
accurate documentation. Work with FA leadership to develop, manage and administer policies in
conjunction with meeting compliance and operational needs.

Collaborate with key stakeholders- such as Registrar, Bursar, Academic Affairs- to ensure all
information required for the R2T4 process is accurate.


Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree or equivalent education or up to three years of college training in related field. Degree requirement may be substituted with relevant and equivalent work experience.

1 year financial aid experience or related training.

Return of Title IV Specialist certification or ability to receive within one year of hiring.

Experience with federal 3rd party sites (Common Origination and Disbursement and NSLDS) databases and/or training.

Ability to perform duties on one's own initiative with general supervision.


Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state regulations related to financial aid processing and administration.
