Job Title: Director, CDZ Product Solutions & Development AMERICAS

Job Location: Miami, FL

Department: Customs Americas

As the Director, CDZ Solutions Design, you will be at the forefront of driving strategic initiatives, technology deployment, customer integrations and operational excellence within our customs product. Your role is pivotal in aligning our customs processes with the overarching business strategy, digitalization efforts and corporate guidelines, ensuring compliance, efficiency, technical prowess and superior service delivery to DHL's customers. You will lead the development and implementation of strategies that have a significant impact on business results over the short and long term, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.

Key Responsibilities / Tasks:

  • Design customized solutions to address client-specific needs using standard regional/global capabilities (people/process/technology).
  • Prepare detailed proposals, including cost estimates, timelines, and implementation plans.
  • Develop regional product strategy and growth plan in collaboration with the Head of Product for Americas.
  • Analyze market data to identify potential clients and sectors for business growth.
  • Develop CDZ-solutions tailored to the needs of different market segments, leveraging regional & global toolkits (e.g., Global processes, myDHLi, analytics and DHL TradeConnect).
  • Actively engage with countries and customers for solution design, leveraging network strengths.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans outlining key milestones, deliverables, and timelines. Include budget when applicable.
  • Assign responsibilities to relevant team members and ensure internal alignment across departments.
  • Raise detailed IT engagement requests when applicable (e.g., EDI integrations with GTM-systems).
  • Oversee the execution of the implementation plan, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
  • Focus on customer "journey" improvements and measured volume development roadmap for given customers.
  • Contribute to top-line growth with new customer engagement initiatives for Americas.
  • Develop focused sales programs to target opportunities in key geographies for business development.
  • Strong collaboration with country product heads to drive initiatives and bring tangible results.
  • Coordinate with operations, IT, and other departments to ensure smooth implementation.
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as necessary to meet customer expectations.
  • Conduct post-implementation evaluations to assess the success of new business initiatives.
  • Gather customer feedback and identify areas for improvement as well as future enhancements.
  • Ensure lessons learned are documented and applied to future projects.
  • Promote product services through various channels, including industry webinars and digital marketing.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key industry stakeholders, partners, customers and potential clients.

Key Requirements and Skills:

  • 8-10 years of experience in logistics/trade consulting/forwarding/customs compliance/advisory consulting, preferably in regional/global product roles with management academic qualifications.
  • Extensive proven track record of solution design for customer experience and operational metric improvement (preferable knowledge and proven track record of Six Sigma/First Choice -DHL equivalent.
  • Experience in developing and managing relationships with customers and stakeholders at the decision-maker level (VP and above, e.g. Regional/Global Heads of Logistics, Compliance, Procurement)
  • Customer handling experience and proficiency in dealing with technical and commercial terms on RFQs.
  • Knowledge of customs brokerage and the different regulations impacting import and export.
  • Flexible working hours, willing to work in different time zones based on the requirements of the role.
  • Knowledge and insights on market trends in the freight forwarding and Customs industry.
  • Ability to handle techno-commercial discussions with the sales team and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for close collaboration with any part of the world.
  • This role is crucial to growth DHL's customs brokerage services through the acquisition of new customers, and increased share of wallet. This will be achieved by bringing to the market differentiated solutions based on DHL Global Forwarding's existing digital and operational capabilities. Growth will be driven by delivering exceptional value to our customers.
