Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

Job Description:

Operating as a key member of the Shared Services team, the individual in this role will resolve invoice processing and payment issues and interface with vendor representatives and Company personnel across various regions. This individual will also be responsible for executing payment runs and identify any banking errors.

Key Tasks:

  • Assisting the AP Supervisor as required.

  • Provide quality customer service with each incoming and outgoing telephone call, written request and interaction with internal and external customers.

  • A good knowledge of SAP. Ensure payment terms are maximized.

  • A/P payment process (checks, ACH, wires and positive pay).

  • Taking ownership for related project task

  • Meeting deadlines

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Minimum one to 5 years of experience in AP.

  • SAP AP experience, preferred.

  • Previous multi-currency accounts payable experience within SAP, preferred.

Key Skills/Competencies:

  • Willingness to take responsibility to resolve problems/queries effectively.

  • Research vendor inquires or issues in a timely manner.

  • Good team player, willingness to assist/ cover other team members as required and have an approachable attitude.

  • Ability to understand Non-PO and PO and the 3-way process.

  • Ability to determine all applicable invoices for the appropriate sales tax.

  • Adopts a proactive approach to managing work with high standard of customer delivery.

  • Coordinates with procurement regarding PO's; matches invoices to PO's using 3-way match process; obtains other backup documentation for payment of legitimate invoices and other outgoing transactions.

  • Assist in the yearly 1099/1042 process.

  • Excellent motivational skills.

  • Understands the need for integrity.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate, summarize, and present information clearly to audiences with different backgrounds and at different levels of the organization and external stakeholders.

  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to work as part of a global team.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze problems and use problem solving ability to ensure solutions are determined.

  • Approachable to both internal and external staff members.

  • Ability to weigh alternatives, considering both short and long-term effects and then being resolute in the decisions they make.

  • Highly collaborative, works with all stakeholders to deliver results and keep others informed.

  • Ability to manage priorities and focus on the key issues

  • Ability to promote tolerance and inclusion among diverse groups and recognition of multiple views.
