What is the Opportunity?

The Director, US Talent Acquisition is accountable and responsible for the leadership and delivery of all talent acquisition activity in the United States. He/she liaises with the Human Resource Business Partners, HR COE partners, TA leadership and business leaders to ensure best in class talent acquisition strategies are in place for each business and functional group. The Director is accountable for the effectiveness and efficiency of the Talent Acquisition team by building their capability, and supporting and implementing new tools, programs and processes to ensure RBC's external competitiveness. She/He is also responsible for ensuring TA processes and operations are seamlessly executed and aligned with partner teams.

What will you do?

  • Lead the US Talent Acquisition team to ensure efficient and effective recruitment is provided to each business and functional group. Encourages quick thinking, aggressive sourcing skills and a proactive approach towards talent acquisition.
  • Ensure appropriate sourcing techniques including complex search techniques, recruitment strategies, and consulting capability are developed and implemented to enable effective candidate attraction, identification and selection.
  • Consult with business leaders to identify recruitment needs and create targeted and proactive recruitment strategies including segmented approaches where appropriate.
  • Manage recruitment performance against established key metrics. Ensure accurate and timely reports and communications to management, hiring managers, and Human Resource Partners.
  • Partner with the HR Business Partners to obtain workforce planning and talent management requirements and ensure the right resources and solutions are in place to meet these needs.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of current best practices in talent acquisition including leveraging technology, social media, and industry networks.
  • Provides strategic leadership and operational management to ensure seamless working relationships and handoffs to partner COE HR teams
  • Partner with Campus recruitment team to support early career recruitment objectives

What do you need to succeed?

  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of the financial services industry

  • Proven experience leading a talent acquisition function supporting both revenue generating businesses and functional teams

  • Proven ability to formulate strategies that will enhance talent acquisition practices and outcomes

  • People management experience with a diverse team

  • Strong customer focus and an ability to effectively and quickly build relationship and establish trust, respect, competence, and confidence.

  • Ability to develop and nurture productive business relationships, and influence and educate managers/executives

  • Proven ability to drive execution and achieve business results

  • Strong prioritization skills and ability to manage conflicting demands from all areas of the business while ensuring the recruitment process is kept in motion

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $160,000 - $250,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs.This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
